When I first came to see John I was 17st 3lbs and desperate. For the past twenty-five years I had tried every diet under the sun with very little success and here I was with blood pressure at 200 over 104 and cholesterol levels through the roof.

I also had a hiatus hernia and my self esteem was rock bottom. I was nervous too, exercise was not my thing and on the couple of occasions I had joined a gym I had been given a programme and pretty much left to my own devices, resulting in disenchantment and another feeling of failure.

    With John all that changed.The first things he

    said were “We're not too interested in weight

    loss, that will happen but it's more about

    getting fit”. And he also said,“You'll have to 

    do as you're told”.

    Well, 14 months later I'm 14st, blood pressure 

    121 over 89, cholesterol down to normal      

    levels. I've dropped four dress sizes and I really

    am a completely different person.

John has taught me so much about the way

the body works, about fitness and exercise

and about eating to get fit and stay fit. I'm not saying it was easy but with John I never felt overwhelmed, he is just the right mix of bossy 

and encouraging and I never felt that he was expecting too much or that he was comparing

me - alwayst totally professional.

         A word of praise was hard 

         earned but when it came

         I knew I had deserved it.               

         John worked with me very skilfully,

         building strength and stamina until I am

         now running three miles before 

         breakfast!!!!

                     

         I feel alive and fit and full of energy.

         I feel good about myself for the first time 

         in years. My life has changed  

         dramatically, opening out instead

         of becoming more and more limited and I

         will always be grateful for having met           John Fearnley
