Mike, a Sales Director for a large international company took the decision that as he was approaching
40, he should give more consideration to his health and fitness.
With
a busy schedule that includes evening meetings, a
considerable time away
from home plus long hours travelling, Mike believed that being
fit would help him both manage stress and increase his energy
levels.
Mike say's “It was obvious to me that I needed to change
my lifestyle, if I was to avoid health problems arising in a few
years time.
Working one-to-one with John made exercise enjoyable, I’m
sure that working on my own I would have slipped back to bad habits
and never found time to continue the programme”.
Below, Mike is building
upper body strength and endurance as part of his
ongoing programme.
 
After his twice-weekly
gym work-out, Mike will also jog/run for 30 minutes at his own
pace to improve his cardiovascular fitness.

Mike enrolled for personal
training because he had previously found it very difficult to
motivate himself and to find the time for a sustained exercise
programme through membership of a gym.
Since the start of his
programme, Mike has transformed from being an unfit 39 year old
into a much fitter, trimmer, toned executive capable of both intense
exercise and enjoying good recreational running and cycling. Over
the last 9 months, he has participated in 10k Runs in Leeds, Dublin
and Manchester plus the 70 miles Great Yorkshire Bike ride.

line at the BUPA Manchester 10k
 
Considering that 18
months ago Mike could barely lift a weight and struggled to jog
one mile, he has come a long way in a short time.
